Letter from the Principal of The Village School
My pilgrimage to The Village Academy began when I was a troubled teen. Despite poor associations, schools, and choices, I made it to college due to the good influence of family and friends. I soon realized the profound effect of a good academic program upon my life, graduating with a B.A. in psychology and M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees in theology and ethics as a basis for a teaching career (which has included UCLA, Knoxville College, and Webb School of Knoxville).
When my daughter entered her teenage years, I saw the need as a parent and educator to set up College Prep Academy of West Knoxville. A sound academic program serves as a foundation for kids in crisis, as it did for my daughter and kids from other families. I am grateful to God that my life experiences have put me in a position to help kids in need, and I do believe that a challenging academic program can help change kids’ lives. It has worked for many of us, and it’s what I’m dedicated to achieving at The Village Academy.
Please read our Mission Statement, and feel free to contact me if you have questions about our fully accredited private high school.
